Maidenhead Honda is celebrating the brilliance of one of their apprentices Tom Crowther –
Tom who has been with Maidenhead Honda for two and a half years recently took part in the National UK Skills Competition and came first out of approximately 800 applicants - he is a truly worthy winner - Ambitious Tom who is being mentored by Keiran Barnes during his Apprenticeship at Maidenhead Honda is looking forward to a bright future by completing his Apprenticeship through Honda –
Ian Govier the Dealer Principal of Maidenhead Honda, has always believed that training in particular the Apprenticeship Scheme is the life blood of this and any company’s future, if you don’t train new talent where would it come from. Tom is the third Apprentice we have employed and trained, we put them through a very hard application process to make sure that we have the right skills and more importantly the right attitude. Our previous two apprentices Matt Adams and Dan Spence also reached the National UK Skills Regional finals, but Tom has surpassed their success by not only attending the UK finals but coming first.
On the 1st of August 2011 a new apprentice (our fourth) Anthony Gathergood joined Maidenhead Honda and the bar has been set high; let’s hope Anthony can follow in the steps of the previous three. Not only is it important to train but it is equally important to recognise that you need to make sure you reward these people and keep them. I am pleased to say that Matt has now been with us 5 years, 2 years since he qualified and we are now reaping the rewards (as is he) from our investment, Honda UK’s investment and his own dedication and commitment to his future.
If we don’t train we lose -
